We had the chance to take a look at some of the top incoming High School Freshman (2021) on the West Coast at the Jr. NBA / UA NEXT Combine held at Bishop Montgomery High School. Mitchell showcased his ability to score the ball in various ways at the Combine, impressing not only his family but scouts and media. Some of Mike’s strengths are a quick handle, great form on his catch and shoot triple, and his ability to attack the basket. He also has great court vision and can find his teammates – hustles on defense and likes to bug defenders up and down the floor. The 2021 all around Mitchell is set to attend Archbishop Mitty High School and become apart of a historic program in recent years under Tim Kennedy. When talking about Mitty HS, most think of Drew Gordon – Colloin Chiverton, and of course little big bro Aaron.

Mike is joining a talented Monarchs team alongside 2019 Joseph Vaughn, an athletic wing with unlimited potential entering his junior season, and 2017 Riley Grigsby, a monster on the boards who has taken close West Catholic Athletic League ball games into his own hands during the 16-17 season. Grigsby’s efforts helped Mitty climb the ranks to one of the top teams in Nor Cal closing out his Junior season. With the addition of Mike Mitchell, Mitty will be one of the top teams in the WCAL and Nor Cal in 2017-2018.

Mitchell seems like a player who is going to give upperclassman and definitely any freshman at the Varsity level around the WCAL a run for their money. Check out our interview + coverage of Mike below.
