There is no question that junior college players and prospects face criticism due to the stigma associated with JUCO Hoops. JUCO is nothing short of a stepping stone to bigger and better things, most don’t see it that way though. Jourdan DeMuynck (Castro Valley, 2008) explains what it’s been like playing professionally for the last four seasons. DeMuynck played two seasons at Chabot College, a junior college in Hayward, CA where he developed skills that helped him to a division one scholarship at Prairie View A&M in Texas (Class of 2013).

Jourdan grew up watching the top talent in the Bay Area at The SF Pro-Am. Players like Steph Curry, Aaron Gordon, Baron Davis, Tyreke Evans, Gilbert Arenas, Jason Richardson, Gary Payton, Kiwi Gardner, and many more have all stepped foot and added to the history. DeMuynck currently holds the SF Pro-Am single game scoring record with 57 points surpassing Jason Kidd. The 6’6 dual citizen (france) has played in the NBA D-League, France, and Australia where he averaged 26 points per game.

DeMuynck is regarded to as an all around player who can play and guard multiple positions. Check out his video from his 4th season in France:
